“DE” is just the tip of the EMF iceberg
What is ”DE”?
“Dirty Electricity” (“DE”) is electrical pollution on an electrical current, an artifact or harmonic of the 120VAC, 60 Hz circuit. It rides on this current / voltage, no power, no “DE”. Electrical Engineers in Industry do not even talk about “dirty electricity/DE”. They DO talk about “power quality” (PQ) & electromagnetic interference (EMI) & high voltage transients & harmonics caused by non-linear loads, these are the proper names for “dirty electricity”.
What % of the EMF problem is ”DE”?
Dirty Electricity (“DE”) is a very small % of the total electromagnetic fields (EMF) in your house & on any given circuit. Filtering 100% of the “DE” (if that was possible) leaves the circuit/voltage it “rode in on” still there along with the great majority of the other EMF. A 60 Hz electric field is VERY bio reactive, it cannot only affect your DNA, immune system, melatonin & sleep but also your biome (gut health) etc. Therefore, the #1 solution to in home “DE” & all other EMF is to remove the source, which is what the EMFSafeSwitch with built in “DE” filter does. ”DE” from the outside
”DE” can come into your home from the outside, from the power company, even from neighbors solar panels, pool and/or well pumps, ”smart” meters etc. especially if you share a transformer. If you live in a neighborhood there is a good chance you share a transformer with at least 5 - 10 other homes. Obviously we cannot control these sources or turn them off so a whole house “DE” filter, at the main panel, becomes the best solution to reduce them from coming into your house. ”DE” from the inside
Inside sources of “DE” are CFL bulbs, some LED bulbs, light dimmers, switch mode power supplies, variable speed motors, mini split heaters etc.
Most of these sources can be either removed or controlled. For the ones you can’t, or don’t want to, turning off these circuits not only removes all the “DE” but also ALL the other EMF’s. This is the best solution especially at night. For the circuits that need to stay on, again a “DE” filter becomes the solution.
Daily changes in “DE”
The amount & type of “DE” you have in your home changes throughout the day & year. Solar panels do not produce “DE” in the evening/night - pool pumps, water heaters, refrigerators, AC/heater, switch mode power supplies, lights etc. all cycle on & off. How serious is “DE”?

“Smart” meters and “DE”
Not so “smart” meters have a switch mode power supply which cause “DE” that comes into your house. A whole house “DE” filter a the main panel will help reduce this “DE” in your home. That said, a TWACS ”smart” meter does not use an RF signal to transfer dats but low frequency pulses on the power line. There is no “DE” filter (we know of) that filters these low frequency pulses (600 Hz to 800 Hz). An EMFSafe cut off switch is the only way to stop this “DE” in your home.

The TWACS exception
TWACS smart meters are problematic to public health and safety
The TWACS smart meters communicate with the utility by adding low frequency signals (400 to 600 hertz range) to the electrical lines. Some utilities promote such power line carrier (PLC) systems as a positive alternative to wireless smart meters. The reality is that all PLC technologies are problematic, including the “pulsing” TWACS systems. The basic facts are that the TWACS system:
- creates powerful dirty electricity
- the dirty electricity is a constant presence, possibly 24/7
- the dirty electricity turns all wires in your house into antennas
- keeping an analog meter will not help much
- the signals cannot be filtered
