Either have a professional Building Biologist or EMF Consultant come out and measure for you, or you can do-it-yourself by ordering our Body Voltage measuring Kit (BVK). You measure to identify which circuits in your home are putting out enough EMF to affect you, especially where you sleep. Then use an EMFSafeSwitch to cut off these circuits at night and enjoy an EMF mitigated sleep sanctuary.
The Building Biology Institute (BBI) recommends a BVK reading below 100 mV in your sleep area at night. Before EMF mitigation most people find a reading of 2,000 to 3,500 mV which the BBI considers to be of “Extreme Concern”.
A neutral & power (NP) wired switch disconnects the neutral and power line (for greater control). A “NP” switch reduces electric and magnetic fields, RF and “DE” 100% on the power and neutral line of the circuits being switched. Standard power (SP) wiring disconnects the power only. If you have low “DE” and a “clean” ground this is a good option. You can also combine NP and SP wiring in the same switch.
Are you concerned about “Dirty Electricity” (“DE”). If so you will want to order the EMFSafeSwitchPQ with built in whole house (ALL circuits) 24/7, EMI, power quality PQFilter™. This filters not only “DE” coming from the outside but also ”DE” from devices inside your house on all circuits, not just the ones being switched.
A “circuit” is the wires running through your home attached to 1 circuit breaker in your electrical panel. Most people need to switch multiple circuits because of hidden wires in the walls, floor and ceiling each putting out EMF 6 - 8 feet in all directions. Measuring tells you how many circuits you need to switch off to mitigate each area and be EMF safe.
Some switches come with the choice of 2 or 4 control zones. Pick the option that suites your life style. You can have your bedroom, bathroom, kids room and home office on separate control zones. You will need to tell us how many circuits you want in each zone. Want/Need more than 4 zones - call Technical Support / Custom Shop
Also when you order an EMFSafeSwitch you will select the type of enclosure you want/need. The EMFSafeSwitch comes in a 4” deep electrical enclosure. It can be surface mounted (on the wall), flush mounted (in the wall) or Outside (weather proof).

Measuring tells you how many and which circuits need to be switched off to mitigate the EMF, especially in sleep areas.
Find which circuits to switch off at night and during the day.
Disconnects Neutral & Power on each home circuit selected.
1 circuit per relay
Best for sensitive people.
Disconnects power line only on each home circuit selected.
3 circuits per relay.

TARGETED MITIGATION
Your house stays ON and you turn off your sleep areas at night.
Use the body voltage method to strategically and methodically determine exactly which electrical circuits you must turn off. Then, turn off just those targeted areas at nighttime. This approach determines the minimum number of circuits that must be disabled to mitigate your sleeping area.
Pros and Cons:
1. Usually less expensive (smaller unit).
2. Less power interruption: possibly more convenient.
IMPLEMENTATION
1. Start with the bedroom that will be turned off first each day ie the children’s room.
2. Using the BVK to confirm adequate mitigation follow the proceudure given on the “PROCESS” page. By turning off all of the identified circuits your body voltage measurement should be less than 100 mV.
(See our PDF)
3. Count the total number of circuit breakers that you need to turn off.
4. Allocate each circuits to one of the zones.
HOLISTIC MITIGATION
Your house stays OFF and you turn on the room you are using.
Turn off most of the home or large areas surrounding the sleeping area, leaving on only the essentials1 and areas remote (if any) from the sleeping area. Then, confirm with the body voltage method that mitigation has been successful.
Pros and Cons:
1. Often more expensive innitially but easier now with the G1-combo.
2. Process is simple.
3. More consistent with Nature.
4. Power savings over time .
IMPLEMENTATION
Remember with the holistic approach everything is OFF except the room/zone you are in.
1. Identify which circuits must be left on.
2. Decide which rooms you want in each zone.
3. Identify which circuits go to each of the four areas.
4. Count the number circuits you are turning off
5. Confirm with the BVK your readings.
WORKING FROM HOME
If you are home all day, this may change your mitigation approach.
Even though it may not affect your sleep area EMF reading you may want to add your home office circuits to your list.
Consider turning off your office while you are working in it! Sounds odd but you can reduce your daytime EMF considerably by doing this. Run a shielded, grounded extension cord in from another room to plug in essentials like your computer.
Remember, most of your EMF load is the electric fields coming from the wires in your walls and during the day, added to that the power cords by your feet. Use the BVK to check your measurements and the effectiveness of your mitigation ideas.
Unplug what you can and move the things you need on as far a way from you as is practical, maybe to another room.
Why not have your home turned off while you work, except the one zone you are bringing the extension cord in from?

Breakers are not “switch rated”
Constant use can cause failure.
This is rare but it happens.
LiveEMFsafe
A box of parts. No enclosure, no wires, no connectors, 3-5 hours to build (add $400-$850 to cost of kit)
The parts are UL listed but the assembled kit is NOT
Free shipping, arrives fully assembled
ready to install
UL listed / Inspected (third party certified) Will pass code in ALL 50 States and Canada
A typical kit costs about $340, and handles 4 circuits and has only 1x zone (read the small print). This does not include the enclosure, mounting rail, conduit or wires that your electrician must supply (+$100). We are told by electricians it takes 3 - 5 hours to assemble @ $100 - $150 per hour (+$300 - $750). So an assembled 4x “SP” circuits, 1x zone KIT = $740 - $1,190 and is NOT UL listed (see below*). To add each additional zone and 4 “SP” circuits costs +$140.
A 12x (SP) circuit, 3 zone kit therefore costs $620 + $100 (parts) + $300 - $750 (assembly/labor) so ACTUAL cost of a 12 circuit, 3 zone assembled kit = $1,020 - $1,470 . . . and is NOT UL LISTED * & has a power supply known to create “DE”.
EMFSafeSwitch 12 circuits, 4 zones (ready to install) $1,212.30 . . . UL LISTED & low EMF.
* The parts in the kit are UL listed but NEC code states that when 3 or more parts are put together in a new enclosure you are creating a new product which requires it’s own UL inspection. Therefore, even a kit of UL parts assembled outside of a UL shop is NOT UL, does not meet NEC code - and could void your home owners insurance.
All of the parts EMFSafe uses in the EMFSafeSwitch are also UL listed AND we spend thousands of dollars to be a 508A UL listed industrial panel shop so that our assembled switch (finished product) can be UL listed (third party certified) so you are protected and can . . . LiveEMFSafe.
